Habitat for Humanity Hawaii Island recently received a $11,960 check from Interfaith Communities in Action, or ICIA.
The donation was presented to Habitat’s Family Service Manager Adrienne Eisele at ICIA’s Spring 2023 Virtual Pilgrimage kick-off at Church of the Holy Apostles in Hilo.
Habitat is the first recipient of ICIA’s signature fund — Hale Ka Po‘e Keiki (Homes for Children) — which aims to end family homelessness on Hawaii Island.
In addition to the funds raised, ICIA creates volunteer opportunities for worshipers at its member congregations and all members of the community.
“We are grateful for ICIA’s support of our work on the east side of Hawaii Island and to be selected as a beneficiary of their signature fund again in 2023,” Habitat’s Executive Director Patrick Hurney said in a press release. The public can help support ICIA’s efforts by participating in their Spring 2023 Virtual Pilgrimage. For more information, go to www.interfaithhawaii.org.
